October 6 Is Deadline for Public Proposals for the CRC

Today, the Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) held the first of two full Commission meetings in which Commissioners could sponsor public proposals. During the meeting, Commissioners adopted October 6 as the deadline for Floridians to submit public proposals. In addition, several CRC Commissioners have also created proposals inspired by ideas submitted by Floridians.The next opportunity for CRC Commissioners to directly sponsor public proposals will be on October 17 during a meeting of the full Commission.How to Review Proposals and Public Input:All public proposals received by the CRC are available on the CRC website at flcrc.gov/Proposals/Public.

Public hearing transcripts are available at flcrc.gov/Meetings/Transcripts.
About the CRC:Once every 20 years, Florida’s Constitution provides for the creation of a 37-member revision commission for the purpose of reviewing Florida’s Constitution and proposing changes for voter consideration. The CRC meets for approximately one year, traveling the state of Florida, identifying issues, performing research and possibly recommending changes to the Constitution.
